The Carioca Association of Muscular Dystrophy aim is to explain for the society about this sickness and retrieve the self-esteem to the carrier of the Muscular Dystrophy and try to improve his physical and psychological condition, expecting to totally reintegrate the patient in the society. Because it is a degenerative disease, the Muscular Dystrophy is know as a “untreatable disease”. The patients with this disease generally hear the doctors saying they can do nothing about his sickness. Because of this they have quality and life expectancy reduced. Unhappy with this situation a group of patients of this disease supported by the help and will of Doctor Fábio de Almeida Bolognani join their forces to try to change this situation building the ACADIM, at 07/29/98. http://www.acadim.com.br
